Claude Pro gives you roughly 45 messages per rolling 5-hour session — Anthropic's own wording is "around 45 messages every 5 hours, often more depending on capacity" — plus separate weekly limits that reset on their own schedule. Both pools are shared between claude.ai chat and Claude Code. There is no fixed daily number: usage is measured in compute, so long conversations, big attachments, and heavier models drain it faster.

Claude Max

Claude Max multiplies Claude Pro's allowance: 5x for $100/mo or 20x for $200/mo, per rolling 5-hour session, with weekly caps on top. Against Anthropic's ~45-message Pro baseline that works out to roughly 225 or 900 messages per session — our arithmetic, not a published number. Max is also the only subscription tier that includes Claude Fable 5.1, up to 50% of your weekly limits.

Since August 6, 2026, plain text chat is unlimited on every ChatGPT plan, Plus included. What still caps on Plus: Medium and High thinking effort on GPT-5.6 Sol (metered, falls back to lighter reasoning when exhausted), file uploads (80 per rolling 3 hours, 512MB per file, 2M tokens per document), image generation, voice, and Deep Research (a monthly allowance). "Unlimited" applies to the text box, not the expensive features around it.

Since May 2026, Gemini has no daily prompt counts. Google switched to compute-based limits that refresh every 5 hours inside a weekly ceiling, and publishes only multipliers: AI Plus is 2x standard limits, AI Pro is 4x, and AI Ultra is 5x–20x of Pro depending on tier. The concrete published numbers are the context windows — 32K tokens Free, 128K on Plus, 1M on Pro and Ultra — and heavier features (Deep Research, media generation, Deep Think) drain the allowance faster.
