Usage Limits Guide

Grok Limits: The Weekly Pool Behind Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra

SpaceXAIFree · $8 · $30 · $100 · $200Verified October 20, 2026

Quick answer

Grok has no per-feature message limits anymore. Every paid tier of The X Subscription, which replaced SuperGrok for new customers in October 2026, gets one usage pool shared across Grok Chat, Voice, Imagine, Grok Bot and Cursor, and it refreshes weekly. Tiers are multiples of Plus ($8): Premium ($30) is 4x, Super ($100) 15x and Ultra ($200) 50x. SpaceXAI publishes no absolute counts, and different products use the pool at different rates.

How the limits actually work

  • One pool, many products. Within Grok it covers Chat, Imagine (images and video), Voice and Grok Bot, and the same pool covers Cursor.
  • The pool refreshes weekly, so one heavy day can't wipe out a month. Your remaining usage is shown in settings.
  • Usage costs vary by product. Video generation and agent work drain the pool much faster than chat.
  • When the pool runs out, you can buy top-ups or wait for the weekly refresh.
  • Third-party models in Cursor (Claude, GPT, Gemini) aren't part of the pool. They're billed separately at API list price, from Premium up.

How these limits have changed

August 14, 2026

SpaceXAI completes its acquisition of Cursor's maker, Anysphere (reported).

October 12, 2026

SpaceXAI launches The X Subscription: Grok, Cursor and X Premium in one plan with a shared weekly pool. New customers no longer get SuperGrok; existing SuperGrok plans continue (reported).

Getting the most out of the limits

  • Watch video generation. It uses the shared pool far faster than chat, and one Imagine session can eat a week of chatting.
  • If you use Cursor heavily, remember Claude and GPT calls bill separately on top of your plan. Only Grok usage comes out of the pool.
  • Ultra costs half as much per unit of pool as Plus (50x the usage for 25x the price), but only if you'd actually use it.
  • Still on a legacy SuperGrok plan? Compare before switching. Older plans continue, but switching moves you onto the new pool.

FAQ

What are SuperGrok's limits now?

For new customers, SuperGrok has been replaced by The X Subscription since October 12, 2026. Each paid tier gets a weekly usage pool shared across Grok and Cursor: Plus is the baseline, Premium 4x, Super 15x and Ultra 50x. Existing SuperGrok subscribers can keep their plans (reported).

How many messages do you get on Grok?

SpaceXAI doesn't publish message counts. Usage is a shared weekly pool, and each product uses it at a different rate, so heavy image or video generation leaves less for chat.

When do Grok limits reset?

The pool refreshes weekly. If you run out before then, you can buy top-ups.

Does the Grok plan include Cursor?

Yes. Every paid tier includes Cursor in the same pool. Plus is Grok-only in Cursor, and Premium and above can use third-party models such as Claude or GPT, billed separately at API list price.

Which X Subscription tier should I pick?

Premium ($30) is the most popular tier, with 4x Plus usage and the latest Grok models. Super ($100) is for daily heavy use with priority access at peak times. Ultra ($200) is for people who'd use 50x Plus's pool, mostly heavy Cursor or video users.
