Usage Limits Guide
ChatGPT Pro comes in three monthly tiers: Pro 100 ($100), Pro 200 ($200) and Pro 500 ($500). Each step includes more usage, but OpenAI doesn't publish the amounts. Only Pro 500 gets Ultrafast mode. New Pro 200 subscriptions get a lower allowance than before. Subscribers grandfathered from September 22–29, 2026 keep the old allowance until October 29, 2026. Codex has no 5-hour limit on any Pro tier, and older GPT-5.6 models and image creation are unlimited.

Partly. Text chats, the GPT-5.6 models, GPT-5 Thinking Mini, image creation and voice are listed as unlimited, subject to abuse guardrails. The GPT-6 models have expanded but finite per-tier allowances. When one runs out, that model is unavailable until it resets.
There's no 5-hour limit on any Pro tier, but weekly limits may apply. Fast mode uses your allowance 2.5x faster and Ultrafast 8x faster. Past the allowance you can buy credits.
No. Pro is billed monthly only, and OpenAI doesn't offer annual billing or prepayment for it.
